Place2Be provides emotional and therapeutic services in primary and secondary schools, building children's resilience through talking, creative work and play. Place2Be provides children’s mental health services in 294 primary and secondary schools, reaching a total school population of 142,000 pupils, helping them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues.

Your new role:

You will have responsibility for leadership of the Level 2 and 3 Programmes, which includes curriculum development, programme delivery, delegate learning, assessment and the assurance and enhancement of academic and quality standards. Each academic year, nationwide, Place2Be delivers approx. 12X Level 2 Courses (approx. 160 participants), 12X Level 3 Courses (Approx. 160 participants) 32X Taster Days (Approx. 510 participants). You will lead on the development and delivery of these courses, ensuring an outstanding student / delegate experience from enquiry through to programme completion and their follow up experience as part of the Place2Be alumni community.

The successful candidate:

As the successful candidate you’ll have proven experience of leading on the development, organisation and day to day management of internal or externally based programmes for clinical staff.

The Level 2 and 3 Course Leader will be responsible for:

• Liaising and developing relationships with external partners interested in delivering counselling skills courses to their employees/students/ stakeholders (e.g. the professional football association and Manchester Met University)
• Line managing the Level 2 and 3 Course Co-ordinator who administrates the Level 2 and 3 courses
• Line managing the Taster Day Co-ordinator who administrates the Taster Days and initial enquiries
• Working with Co-ordinators to Schedule Taster Days, Level 2 and 3 courses nationwide
• Ensuring all courses are delivered and internally moderated to a high standard
• Delivering training on a regular basis
• Offering clinical supervision to tutors delivering the courses
• Quality assuring delivery of all courses through participant evaluations, internal moderator and CPCAP independent and external verification systems

As the successful candidate you’ll be able to demonstrate the following as part of your application:

• Qualified as a counsellor/psychotherapist to Level 5 or above
• BACP Registered/Accredited or UKCP/HPC registered
• Experienced counselling/psychotherapy trainer
• Experienced assessor of counselling skills and theory
• Good knowledge of up to date theory and research appropriate for teaching the Place2Be integrative model
• Experience of working dynamically with diversity and difference to bring about change
• Experience of line management, staff appraisal and development
• Currently practising as a counsellor/psychotherapist for children and able to continue doing so in this role
