Five Rivers Fostering Service is a growing and developing service and is judged as Outstanding or Good by Ofsted in each of its five registered services.
We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker, who is ambitious and resourceful. You will be joining our experienced and energetic London & East fostering service base din Harold Wood, Romford. The team is working with an expanding carer base in London and the Surrounding counties. We can offer the ASYE scheme to newly qualified Social Workers.
HCPC registered Social Worker
Degree in Social Work or equivalent
Full UK driving licence and access to a car is desirable or if required a travel allowance is offered
Commitment to working flexible hours
Key Responsibilities include:
Supervise and support allocated foster carers, and the children and young people in placement.
completing all necessary recording and reporting associated with the care of children and young people and their foster carers in line with company policies and procedures.
Contribute to and participate in local foster carer recruitment activities.
Undertake initial visits to prospective foster carers.
Undertake the assessment of prospective Foster Carers and present this to the Fostering Panel.
Ensure referrals for placements are managed in line with the companies agreed processes.
Work with Local Authority colleagues to develop and maintain excellent working relationships between the two agencies.
Ensure that foster carers are aware of training available and are supported to attend.
To maintain all aspects of your work to ensure regulatory requirements are met and contribute to a services preparation for an Ofsted inspection.
Promote with foster carers, children and young people the value of being involved in engagement and participation.
Promote and enhance the Five Rivers ethos and values to external parties to help build our reputation with Local Authorities and other stakeholders.
Provide an out-of-hours on-call service as part of the team of Qualified Social Workers who undertake this role. (staff receive an additional payment for providing this service).
