London Centre for Psychodrama

The London Centre for Psychodrama is registered with the British Psychodrama Association (BPA) as an accredited training organisation, and with the Federation for European Psychodrama Training Organisations (FEPTO). Our professional Diploma in Individual and Group Psychotherapy leads to UKCP registration as a Psychotherapist in the Humanistic and Integrative School of UKCP.

Course

Creative Approaches To Supervision - One year Diploma course

This one year (130 hr) diploma level course is for psychotherapists, counsellors, arts and play therapists, coaches and others engaged in the supervision of practitioners from similar fields. This established course has Recognised Supervision Training Status with HIPC (Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College of the UKCP). It is accredited by the British Psychodrama Association and the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy (UKCP member organisations) and recognised by the British Association of Dramatherapists (HCPC members organisation). Successful completion of the Training may lead to inclusion on the UKCP or other registers of supervisors (subject to all other relevant criteria being met).

Psychodrama Experiential Workshop with Anna Chesner, UKCP reg psychotherapist, BPA reg Practitioner and Senior Trainer. These run four times a year and are open to those people seeking an experience of psychodrama and wishing to engage in some personal work. Anna’s approach draws on psychodynamic, existentialist and systemic traditions as well as her experiences as a psychotherapist, dramatherapist and playback theatre practitioner. The weekends are designed to give an opportunity for personal exploration and development in a safe environment, as well as an understanding and experience of the method. Psychodrama is a deep psychological method of psychotherapy using role, symbolisation and enactment. Please discuss with Anna if you are not currently in personal therapy.

(London) Open Access Weekend: the Neuroscience of Psychodrama

What happens in the brain and body? How does this relate to psychotherapy and particularly to psychodrama as an experiential therapy? This action-based workshop will bring the current theory to life and provide an opportunity to experience the method of psychodrama in the light of our new understanding. This workshop is open to members of the public. No prior experience of psychodrama is required. We also welcome diploma or certificate trainees from other psychodrama training schools and professionals who have a particular interest in psychodrama or the topic for the weekend. These workshops are intended to provide an experience of psychodrama and although they are therapeutic they are not intended as a means of providing psychotherapy. This weekend will explore the wider applications of these approaches. (Malvern) Living Creatively Residential Workshop

Living Creatively, Learning and Unlearning through Psychodrama and Playback Theatre. With Anna Chesner and Endel Hango In this five day residential experiential workshop we will learn how to be ourselves authentically, to access our spontaneity and creativity, and to make friends with both our inner critic and the creative child. To do so might involve unlearning old patterns, identities that trap us, false limitations and road blocks... Anna and Endel will use psychodrama, playback theatre, group analytic sessions and the natural environment to support participants with their personal and interpersonal process. Endel is a TEP of the Nordic Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. He teaches in the Tartu Psychodrama Institute Estonia and is Creative Director at Tartu Theatre of Spontaneity. He works as a psychotherapist and organisational consultant and coach. Anna is Senior Trainer with the BPA and co-director of the London Centre for Psychodrama. Both Anna and Endel are Accredited Playback Theatre Trainers with the Centre for Playback Theatre.
